Skyrim VR... Day 27

Well, I headed back to Whiterun to turn some quests in that I had been meaning to, plus it was on the way to drop off the puppy… and while I was there I was like, hmmm. If Sofia and Lucien are followers-but-not-followers, I might as well see if my housecarl will tag along too.

So I said follow me, and she said yes my thane, so I gave her some beefy armor I had been meaning to sell and a shiny new sword and off we went… three followers and a dog.

Lucien was funny, he asked Lydia if he could get to know her a little better, and if she had any hobbies. I think they reused pre-recorded lines from her dialog to make the conversion amusing. Someone’s uploaded it to teh youtubes.

So off we went, back to vampire cave 1.0 and talked to the statue-god-person-thing, and he was all like “if you want to keep the fancy axe, you must kill the dog with it.”

Puppy Magic

But much that I murder all the things, I didn’t feel like murdering a talking dog that had been hanging out with me and serving as a pin cushion for all these weeks, so I declined to keep the axe.

He said very well, and then the dog disappeared.

Poof!

And reappeared as a statue.

Puppy Statue

As a consolation prize, I was granted some ugly looking helmet that will give me better speech and haggling… I stuffed it in storage and moved on.

Next cab off the rank was vampire cave 2.0.

We fast travelled back toward the solitude neck of the woods and headed up to where the cave should be and… roar.

Ded Dragon

I don’t think he was guarding the vampire cave per se.

Sometimes I wonder if they can smell the dragon blood in me and come seek me out… I mean I do travel around a lot, so maybe it’s just bad luck, but it feels something more.

I probably should figure out this dragon soul stuff, I think it unlocks extra words for shouts, so I probably should actually unlock them, and actually use them… almost never use shout, my arrows are too much fun and shouting is kind of the opposite of stealthy.

Anyway, we headed into the vampire cave 2.0 and cleared it out using the stealth arrow method, not the shouting method, and got Sofia some not-bugged-looking armour.

Sofia New Armor

Then it was time to head back to Solitude to turn in those quests I’d just completed.

Insert gratuitous building silhouette against the aurora sky pics.

Someone tidied up all the books in the bard college too.

No Books Were Harmed

Oooh, pretty volumetric lighting.

Bard College Windows

The head bard and I had to take a little creative licence around the King Olaf book, some of the stanzas were damaged beyond repair… so we made some shit up and presented it to her Jarlyship to see if she’ll let us do the play/burning of the king thing after all.

Dress Rehearsal

She was swayed by the prose and we will burn the king the next evening.

So I wandered off to turn in some more quests.

The dressmaker was pleased that the Jarl liked her dress.

The mother whose daughter went off to fight in the army was displeased when I informed her that her daughter was dead.

The old dude with a gambling debt was happy I had persuaded his debtor to let him off.

There were skeletons in the crypt beneath the city. Some of them were moving when I went in, all were not moving when I exited.

Now I dunno about this new Jarl situation. I’ve heard multiple of her thanes disparaging her behind her back, and saying that their loyalties are with General Tullius. And that the general is always too busy to see her. And that she wanted to hold a parade but “its not safe” and stuff.

I want to do some meddling, because it seems like she’s being undermined… yet there doesn’t seem to be any quest in that direction (yet?)... I guess I’ll keep half an eye on things and go on a murder spree if I need to.

In the meantime, it must be time to wait for sundown so we can burn this king.
