Skyrim VR... Day 7

Last night I was in Whiterun for the whole evening... spoke to some old lady who swears her son had been taken prisoner.

She was sure he hadn't been killed and she wanted me to find out more details by going to her house.

So I went to her house, and the door was locked.

So I crouched down, made sure nobody was around, and picked it.

Went in, she was having an argument with her other son about if I could be trusted, but we worked it out in the end and they said I should go sneak into some other dudes house and look for evidence...

Read (okay, opened... TL;DR) their entire library of books, then left the house feeling pretty good about myself.

Guard walks up, and is like OI, I saw what you did.

I know by now that arguing with the guard is the fastest way back to the load game screen, so I said whatever and paid him off.

He shook me down and dropped me off out front of the Jarl's house, so I figured whatever... I need to talk to old Jarley anyway.

The Jarl was layin' back in his chair like a boy racer listening to doof-doof, but rambled on about how awesome I was, and congrats, I'm now a thane, and I should urgently piss off and go see some old dudes in the mountains about my new vocal prowess... I filed that away as a suggestion for a rainy day, because I had a small quest log in the local area to clean up.

So I went and talked to some companion maester instead, and he said I should brawl with an underling, and so I gave that dude a good whupping with my mace and they were all 'respect', and then told me I was a whelp, and could I please take some sword to go get sharpened.

So I was a good little pack mule and took the sword up to the forge to be sharpened, and the blacksmith was all like hey, while you're here can you take this shield back to some chick from the companions, so I give him some sass, but he gives me the shield anyway... at least I don't have to pay for petrol to be an uber driver in this game...

So I took the shield and sold some a bunch of junk to the dude and called it even... went to see the court wizard to sell some of the stuff the blacksmith didn't want, and he was all like can you take these herbs down to the herbalist.

So I read all the books in his library and acquired several more quests and headed on out to deliver the shield and herbs.

The shield girl was all like why are you bothering me, whelp, and I handed her the shield and we were suddenly best friends /shrug.

I went off to find the herbalist, but ended up in the random house from earlier... didn't have to pick the lock for that one, had a good chat to all the people in the house while searching through their various dressers and drawers and reading all their books.

Was careful not to steal anything marked in red, but pilfered a few things that weren't marked in red.

Then found the note and yeah apparently this dude was taken prisoner, so I assume when I tell the old lady the good news, she'll ask me to go save him...

Oh, that reminds me... because shout seems to be the same button as grab, I've been accidentally shouting here and there, and a minute or two after an accidental shout, the guard walks up and was like 'what was that?' I gave him some sass but he didn't arrest me, so I guess that's OK?

I need to figure out how to bind shout to a different hotkey.

Also the once per day power in a similar boat… I’m going to have to figure out this VRIK gesture binding shenanigans.
