Skyrim VR... Day 17

Where to next? There was a quest marker over yonder, and that was in the opposite direction to the giant who was wandering around with a couple of mammoths.

So I headed in that direction, and surprise surprise, found some bandits in a ruined castle.

These bandits were doing some moon smithing or something, looked like they were trying to make some magical items? Seemed interesting. So I went to ask them politely what they were up to, and ended up killing them all and then getting Sofia to carry all those heavy items. She complained of course, but she was the one who asked to be my lacky, not the other way around, so I asked her to sing a song and we continued along our merry way toward that next quest marker.

Surprise, surprise, the next quest also involved bandits.

It seems like every second quest is a bandit-adjacent quest, but I suppose that’s RPG for you.

I cleared out the surface bandits then headed into the cave. This was pretty fun, I arrowed a bandit who was mining a node of iron, so I picked up his pickaxe and finished the job.

Then I heard Sofia plinking away at another node, went over there and mined it too.

Spent quite a time wandering thru the dungeon, killing bandits and mining nodes, then loaded Sofia up with all that ore to carry, grabbed this family sword I was looking for and bailed.

Went overland to find the road back to Whiterun, and found some very weird fellow with a broken down cart containing a coffin of his ‘mother’. I had flashbacks of ‘vampire cart’ from Dan’s D&D campaign, but agreed to help him out by bullying the nearby farmer into fixing the cart. I look forward to this coming back to haunt me later in the game.

Anyway, the walk back to Whiterun was otherwise uneventful, and I was able to turn in a bunch of those quests, sell some stuff, and level up my alchemy and blacksmithing.

I checked in with the companions, and they said it was time I proved my worth and sent me to find some magical fragment/artifact thingy?

So I asked Sofia to sing another song as we headed back out into the wilderness to find this next presumably-filled-with-bandits cave.
