Skyrim VR... Day 13

Last night in Skyrim, I was selling a bunch of my loot and turning in quests when some lady came up to me and asked for payment for the wedding ring I apparently had purchased on credit?

Well, I didn't remember doing any such thing, but I begged her to tell me where my betrothed was so I could go settle that with a sober mind.

As it happened, the destination was near where some fellow wanted an escort to, so I agreed and we headed out.

Now, given it was a fair walk, and I hadn't tried properly to vomit in VR, and the Whiterun stables were right there. So I bought a horse. I was a home owner now and clearly had 1000gp to spare.

She was quite magnificent, a nice blackish brown, looked like a warhorse or Clydesdale. There wasn't anything too unsettling about riding her, though it didn't exactly feel natural either.

But anyway, we got to the crossroads just outside Whiterun, and there was the tell-tale roar of a dragon. I think you can see where this is headed?

I hopped off my horse, but the dragon had already seen us and come in for a burnination.

When the dust settled, I couldn't see my horse. I searched the area and eventually gave up and continued on foot. Like a goddamn peasant.

A little way further down the road, I found the horse. It wasn't in good shape. Which is to say, I guess it survived the dragon fire only to be killed by a wolf?

Lesson learned. No horses.

Luckily there were some bandits a little further down the road that I could take some of my frustrations out on.

The dude I was escorting was getting really annoying. He'd surrender at the drop of a hat. Like here's a level 2 fox that I burn to a crisp in no time, but he's already shouting 'please, I give up'.

We walked late into the night and eventually found the grove to drop him off at. There was some fancy tree I was supposed to get the sap from too, so we started up that path and he was like noo, leave the poor tree alone. In the end he proposed a compromise, and gave me a seedling to take back instead of harming the tree and taking the sap.

I'm an elf so that seemed reasonable, though I did think I might like to murder him and the tree out of spite, given how annoying he was.

Anyway, leaving him there, I went to see my future bride. Who to nobody's surprise, turned out to be a witch.

She sounded hurt that I wanted the ring back, but really what was she expecting? I put her out of her misery, then headed back out of that cursed swamp.

What a day.
